Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team and provide high-quality support and assistance to our young client. This role involves supporting our client with community-based activities, promoting independence, and ensuring her physical, emotional, and social well-being.
The role will generally require work in the local community with our client; to help her develop new interests and social opportunities, develop independence with community safety and travel, and assist in any vocational support as our client begins College.
Our client’s needs include some mild upper limb and hand difficulties and also some needs around her self-esteem, confidence and planning for her future.
Our client has a very experienced multidisciplinary Therapeutic team supporting her needs. You will work with the team to help follow and deliver management plans within daily routines in line with therapeutic advice and training to enable you to do this safely and appropriately.
Our client verbally communicates but can be quiet and shy and lack confidence but is keen to be more confident in communicating her needs to others. She attends mainstream education at present and is currently considering post 16 options at college.
Our client enjoys finding a bargain when thrift shopping, all things animals, gaming and also activities such as cinema, bowling and a trip to Macdonalds.
Our client is supported by her family at home however due to parents ill health and their own needs, sensitivity to the wider family needs is required and supporting our client in dealing with this will also be essential.
We are currently looking for support for 10 hours per week for the following times:
Recruited hours:
Wednesdays 4:30pm – 8:30pm
Saturdays 10am – 4pm
There may be some flexibility re: days/times.
10 @ 1:1per week
Shifts / hours may be subject to review/ change in line with client needs with notice.
We will continue to review and increase care support as this embeds, and relationships are established so there may also be scope for increasing hours in the future if successful applicant is interested.

· Encourage and support client to engage in community, social, and recreational activities
· Support our client in potentially exploring and obtaining vocational activities/work experience.
· Promote independence and support client in developing life skills
· To encourage our client to discuss and identify her own needs in particular those related to her own emotions and psychological well-being.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided
· Follow individual care plans and report any changes or concerns to supervisors
· Uphold dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times

Essential
· A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and colleagues
· Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Basic IT skills for recording and reporting
· Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices
· Right to work in the UK (unfortunately we do not offer sponsorship)
· Willingness to undergo a DBS check
· Willingness to support client within a Hydrotherapy pool if required (training provided)
· Previous experience working with / care of children
Desirable
· Previous experience in a care or support role
· Level 2 or above qualification in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)
· First Aid and Manual Handling training
· Knowledge of person-centred care approaches
· Understanding, knowledge or experience client needs as highlighted in job summary
· Full driving license
